Bitcoin statistics, block by block
Live statistics from the last 2,016 Bitcoin blocks: who mines them, how long they take, what it costs to get into one and when they arrive. Everything refreshes the moment a new block lands.

Who mined the last 144 blocks
Each square is one block, oldest to newest, coloured by the mining pool that found it. Hover or tap a square to see which block it was; the legend ranks pools by blocks won in the window. The donut sums it up as a share of all blocks.

Mining pool share, day by day
Mining is a lottery weighted by hashrate: the bigger the pool, the more tickets it holds. Swings from one day to the next are mostly luck; over weeks, each pool’s share converges on its slice of the network hashrate.

How long does a Bitcoin block take?
Bitcoin targets one block every 10 minutes, but arrivals are random. Short gaps are the most common and a few blocks take more than half an hour — it is the classic exponential distribution of a memoryless search. The histogram shows the time between each of the last 2,016 blocks; the dashed line marks the 10-minute target.

Bitcoin fees, block by block
The median fee rate is what a typical transaction paid to get into a block; the 10th percentile is what the cheapest ones paid. When the two lines pull apart, the mempool is crowded and users are bidding up to get in first.

Transactions per block
A full block holds roughly 3,000–5,000 transactions depending on their size. Fewer transactions usually means bigger ones (consolidations, inscriptions), not an empty network.
When are Bitcoin blocks found?
Average blocks per hour by weekday and UTC hour over the last 13 days. Expect about six per hour; brighter cells were luckier hours. Miners never sleep, so any pattern you think you see here is noise — a good lesson in how randomness looks.
Bitcoin price history since 2010
From a few cents in 2010 to where it trades today, weekly closes in US dollars. The logarithmic scale shows every cycle in proportion: a move from $1 to $10 looks as big as one from $10,000 to $100,000.
How good is the crowd at predicting blocks?
Every Bitcoin block is a FreeBTC round: players call which pool mines it, whether it comes fast or slow, and whether fees go up. This is how often they were right over the last 21 rounds, next to what blind guessing would score.

Questions about these statistics
How often is a Bitcoin block mined?
On average every 10 minutes. The difficulty adjusts every 2,016 blocks to hold that pace, but individual gaps vary a lot: roughly six in ten blocks arrive in under 10 minutes, and a few take more than an hour.
Which mining pool mines the most Bitcoin blocks?
Right now Foundry USA, with 25.5% of the last 1,008 blocks. The ranking is computed from real blocks and refreshes with every new one.
What is a good Bitcoin fee right now?
Look at the median fee of the last few blocks: paying around it usually confirms within a block or two. The “cheapest 10%” line shows the floor that still made it in.
Why do some blocks take so long?
Finding a block is a random search for a valid hash. Each attempt is independent, so a long wait does not make the next block “due” — the expected time to the next block is always about ten minutes.
Where does this data come from?
Straight from the Bitcoin blockchain via mempool.space, indexed by FreeBTC as each block arrives. Price history also comes from mempool.space.
