Higher or Lower: Bitcoin higher or lower game
Two dates, one question: when was Bitcoin worth more?
How to play
- A chain of up to 20 real dates, the same for everyone today. Prices are real BTC/USD closes.
- Each question shows date A with its price and date B with its price hidden. Choose Higher or Lower.
- You have 12 seconds per answer. Running out of time counts as a miss.
- One wrong answer ends the run. Your score is your streak, from 0 to 20.
- The two prices in every pair differ by at least 10%.
- Season points: a streak of 15 or more earns 3, 8 or more earns 2, 4 or more earns 1. A perfect 20 also earns a badge.
- Ties on the leaderboard are broken by total time.
About this game
Two dates, one price. You see what one bitcoin cost on the first date; decide whether it was worth more or less on the second. Get it right and the second date becomes the next question. Twenty in a row is a perfect run.
The dates jump between eras and also stay inside the same year, so you need both the big picture — cents in 2010, six figures in 2025 — and a feel for the bubbles and crashes in between. Every pair differs by at least 10%, so it is never a coin flip.
Is it free?
Yes. Like every FreeBTC game it costs nothing to play, and good results add season points.
Why only 12 seconds?
So the answer comes from your Bitcoin memory, not from a quick search. The clock runs on our server, and a short pause after each reveal is not counted.
Can the two prices be almost the same?
No. Every pair differs by at least 10%, so a good sense of Bitcoin’s history is always enough.
When does the chain change?
At 00:00 UTC every day. Prices come from the public BTC/USD history of mempool.space.
