Memorise a growing seed phrase. How far can you go?

How to play

  • Level 1 shows the first 3 words of today’s sequence for 1.5 seconds per word. Then they disappear.
  • Type them back in the same order. Each level adds one word, up to 24.
  • Four letters are enough: in BIP39 the first four letters identify every word. Accents do not matter.
  • One wrong word ends the run. You can also stop between levels and keep what you have.
  • Score = the longest sequence you recalled, out of 24. Ties go to the faster run.
  • Season points: 14+ words = 3, 9–13 = 2, 6–8 = 1. Recalling all 24 earns the perfect badge.
  • Same sequence for everyone each day; English and Spanish players get their own official BIP39 list.

About this game

Seed Memory is Simon with Bitcoin’s own vocabulary. Every word comes from the official BIP39 list, the 2,048 words wallets use for 12- and 24-word seed phrases. You see three words, type them back, then four, then five… up to a full 24-word seed.

It is a memory game, but also a small lesson in self-custody: why the order matters, why four letters are enough to identify each word, and why your real seed should never be typed into any website.

Is it free?

Yes. Like every FreeBTC game it costs nothing to play, and good results add season points.

Are these real seed phrases?

They are real BIP39 words picked at random, not anyone’s wallet. They are public, shared by every player today, and protect nothing.

Should I practise with my own seed?

Never. Do not type your real seed phrase into any website, app or chat, this one included. A real seed belongs on paper or steel, offline.

Why are four letters enough?

BIP39 was designed so that no two words share the same first four letters. That is why some metal backups only stamp four letters per word.
