Why a survey screened me out
A screen-out means the survey ended your participation in its opening questions because you do not match the profile it needs. Only finished surveys pay, so a screen-out credits nothing, even if the partner’s wall showed an amount for it.
Why it happens
Market research companies look for very specific people: an age, a country, a job, a device or a habit. The first questions check that. Each survey also has quotas, and when a group fills up, new people from that group are screened out, even if they qualified an hour earlier.
How to get fewer screen-outs
- Fill in the profile questions on each survey partner fully and honestly. Partners use them to send you surveys you fit.
- Answer consistently. Contradicting your profile ends surveys and can get you flagged by the partner.
- Start new surveys soon after they appear: quotas fill quickly.
- Try more than one survey partner in Earn. Each has different clients.
What not to do
Don’t answer at random or change your age or country to qualify, and don’t use a VPN. Partners detect it, reverse the payments and may close their wall to you, and the FreeBTC terms forbid hiding your location to get around controls.
Questions
The wall showed an amount. Why did I get nothing?
The wall shows what a finished survey pays. A screen-out is not a finished survey, so the partner pays nothing and there is nothing to share.
Do screen-outs hurt my account?
Not by themselves: they are normal. What partners penalise is inconsistent or rushed answers.
