Why do earnings mature?

Updated

Partners can reverse a payment for weeks after a task, so what they pay you waits 30 to 60 days, depending on the partner before it reaches your balance. Your first task, if it is small, matures in just 3 days.

Like a miner’s reward

A miner’s block reward waits for confirmations before it can be spent. Partner sats work the same way. Advertisers check every conversion and sometimes cancel the ones they find invalid. Holding earnings while they mature means a reversal simply cancels sats that never reached your balance, instead of taking them back later. Partners that pay FreeBTC later get a longer hold, shown on that partner in Earn.

Where to follow your sats

  • Earn: the strip shows Available and Maturing, and “Next to mature” gives the amount and date of your next release.
  • Earn → History: each task with its status (Maturing, In review, Available or Cancelled) and the date it unlocks.
  • Wallet: a Maturing card with the total still waiting.

What can change a maturing earning

  • The partner reverses the task: it changes to Cancelled.
  • The account goes under review: its earnings change to In review until a person checks it.
  • A reversal that arrives after the sats matured is deducted from your balance, or from your next earnings.

Questions

Can I speed up maturing?

No. The date is set when the partner confirms the task and is the same for everyone with that partner. Only your first small task gets the short 3-day hold.

Do my referral earnings mature too?

Yes. Your share of a friend’s task matures on the same date as their task, and it is cancelled if the partner reverses it.

Do weekly ranking prizes mature?

No. Ranking prizes go straight to your balance when the week closes.
