Why withdrawals pause after an address change
For your safety, adding or changing any payout address (Lightning, USDT or Bitcoin) pauses withdrawals for 24 hours. If someone got into your account, they could not send your sats to their own address straight away.
What starts the 24 hours
- Saving a new or different address in any of the three profile fields, including the very first time you add one.
- Deleting an address also counts as a change.
- One change pauses every method, not only the one you edited.
- Changing your nickname does not start any wait.
Withdrawals you already requested
Each request keeps the address it was made with. Changing your address afterwards cannot redirect a pending payment, neither yours nor an intruder’s. If you notice you requested to a wrong address, cancel it from Withdrawals within its first 10 minutes, fix the address and request it again once the 24 hours have passed.
Plan ahead
Add your Lightning address on your first day. Partner earnings take days to mature, so the wait is over long before your first withdrawal is ready.
Questions
When exactly can I withdraw again?
If you try during the wait, Wallet tells you the exact time (in UTC) when withdrawals open again: 24 hours after your last address change.
I didn’t change my address. What should I do?
Sign out, sign back in with Google and check the addresses in your profile. If one is not yours, put yours back before the 24 hours end: any withdrawal will go to the address saved when it is requested.
